He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rebecca Nunn and Eddie Evans; his sons, Kevin Mayo, Jamal Mayo and George Mayo Jr.; his stepson Michael Davenda; his daughter Erika Davenda; and his siblings, James Mayo, Handy Mayo, Mary King and Martha Prichett. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
