She was predeceased by: her husband Richard; and her siblings, Adolf (Dahlov), Julia (George Saslow) and Helen. She is survived by: her parents, Aaron Ipcar and Rose Ipcar; her children, Development, Bonnie (Steve) and Brooke (Elias); her grandchildren, Laura (Darlene), Sven (Leslie), Peter, Griffin, James and Christopher; and her sister-in-law Miriam. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those with fond memories of Mel contribute something of themselves or their resources to enhance the lives of people, animals, bees, or trees, all of which Mel cared about deeply.
