He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ayres and Elizabeth Ayres (Davidson); his siblings, Ronald Ayres, Mary Thomson and Elizabeth McManus; and his grandson Derek Clark.
He is survived by: his significant other Helen Dempsey (Sarro); his children, Sydney Ayres (Lisa) of England and Linda Ayres of Scotland; his stepchildren, John Dempsey (Deborah) of Pownal, VT, Carrie Alibozek (Doug) of Adams and Eileen Clark (Ronald) of Adams; and his siblings, Robert Ayres, Ian Ayres (Elizabeth) of Scotland and Cathie McIsaac (Allan) of Scotland. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
