He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace (McMullen) and William Sr.; and his siblings, Virginia and John. He is survived by: his wife Hsiao; his siblings, James and Patricia Shea; and his sister-in-law Sandra. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral Mass celebrated, Monday October 26th, 2020 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Acton, MA was private.
He was recently awarded a three-year grant from the National Science Foundation furthering space physics research.
