He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Jean; his children, Donna Hammons (David) of Ruston, Denise Wynn (Royce) of Amite, Roger Slater Jr. of Baton Rouge and Benjamin Slater (Katie) of Pride; his great grandchild Presley Marie Slater; and his sisters, Bonnie Miller of Picayune, Bennie Jo Kennedy of Pearl and Rosemary Donze-Mooney of New Hebron. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
