Hurst, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Brenda Kaye Hurst; her brother Jules Gaynell Ashford; her siblings-in-law, Maxwell Hurst and Joy H. Miller (Willie T. Miller, Jr.); her aunt Julie M. Gremillion; and her grandson Christopher Giroir.
She is survived by: her son Walter "Sonny" Hurst III (Simone); her grandchildren, Heather Hurst Webb (Jason), Jeremy Hurst (Gretchen) and Shannon Hurst DalPozzal (James); her great grandchildren, Benjamin, Lauren Lane, Olive, Pearl Hurst, Annabelle Webb and Ella Giroir; her brother J. W. Ashford, Jr.; her sister-in-law Dorothy Jewette Ashford; and her nieces, Melanie Ashford, Lisa Storms and Penny Landry. She is also survived by many loving nieces, a nephew, and dear friends.
