He is survived by: his wife Dixie Newman of Winnsboro; his daughters, Gloria Newman of Columbia and Dianne Newman of Columbia; his stepchildren, Sharon Welborn of Lumberton, MS, Tiffany Cooper of Enterprise, Natalie Galan of West Monroe and Jerry Simmons of Wisner; and his sister Geneva Givens of Jigger. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
