He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta Phillips Ussin; his son Lawrence Ussin; his grandchild Selton Ussin, Jr.; his parents, Allie Ussin and Ledora Snead Ussin; his siblings, Geraldine Wilson, Olivia Lewis, Dorothy Mae Ussin, Herman, Joseph, Alvin Irvin and Anthony Ussin; his parents-in-law, Walter Phillips, Jr. and Zenola Jones Phillips; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph and Raymond Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Ussin, Kenneth Ussin, Terry Ussin, Wade Ussin, Marie Morris, Wanda Washington, Deidra Jones, Esther Swan, Selton Ussin, Sr. and Syretta Akins; his children-in-law, Lily Trask, Martha Renee Washington, Norman Jones and Warren J. Atkins, Jr.; his siblings-in-law, Donald Phillips (Aubranell), Vincent Phillips, Gail Brown (Herbert) and Joyce Phillips; and his friend Lilly Perkins. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, and a host great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
