She was predeceased by: her parents, John Carpenter and Katherine Smith Carpenter; and her siblings, Lance Carpenter, Hope Saul and Mary Sims.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Carpenter (Angel), Brandy Poree (Gregg) and Lacey Harding (Antonio); her grandchildren, Jarard, Jeremiah, London, Tarajia, Antonio, Jr., Michael, Jr. and Jasmine; and her siblings, Carmen Rhodes (Thomas), Seth Carpenter (Wakesha) and Larry Brown. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
