He is survived by: his wife Sue Delafosse; his sons, John Steve Delafosse, Jr. (Stacey Dickens) of Pine Prairie, Joshua Shane Delafosse (Candi) of Pine Prairie and Justin Shaun Delafosse (Kelly); his siblings, Wayne O'Pry (Joy) of Melder, Davis Delafosse (Ronda Delatte) of Pine Prairie and Rita Manuel (Allen); his brother-in-law Jerry O'Neal (Catherine) of Grand Prairie; his grandchildren, Trenton Delafosse (Jillian Tweedel), Kayla Guidry (Ryan), Kasie Fontenot (Jordan), Slaton O'Neal, Alyssa Delafosse, Justin Delafosse and Rilee Hebert; and his great grandchildren, Bentley Foreman, Kallie Guidry, Vivian Guidry and Elle Fontenot.
