He was predeceased by: his parents, Madeline Broom Every and Joseph Every; his grandparents, Mary and Ruben Robinson; his son Randell Carter; his grandson Jayquan Chenier; his siblings, Nathaniel Every and Eva Lee Jessie; his nephew Eddie Lee Sylvester; his godparents, Mildred Every and Lawrence Hampton; his parents-in-law, Gordia and Eddie Carter, Sr.; his daughter-in-law Lillian Walker; his brothers-in-law, Eddie Carter, Jr. and Samson Carter; and his former wife Anna Rose Every.
He is survived by: his wife Maude Trixie Carter Every; his sons, Londell Jason Carter (Dione), Toranza Every, Sr. (Taira), Lionel Every, Jr. (Danielle), Dale Parker (Beverly), Rickey Walker, Sr. and Kaiwe Alston (Dawn); his siblings, Rodney Every (Carolyn) and Mary Alice Woods; and his godchildren, Cheryl Jessie, Henry Paul Woods, Duane Smith, Jr., Raynell Every and Dwight Brown. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
