She was predeceased by: her parents, William Millam Garrett, Sr. and Mamie Owens McIntoch; her stepfather David McIntosh; and her brother William Garrett, Jr. (Homer Woodworth). She is survived by: her son William Sams; her granddaughter Melissa Sams-Cottingham; her great grandchild Mamie Woodworth-Cummings; and her sisters, Joyce, Doris, Joann and Christina. She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
