He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Connella; his parents, Gertrude Keller Simmons and Michael Connella; his stepfather Horace Simmons; his sister Elizabeth Ann Barton; and his great grandchild Barrett Anthony Boggs.

He is survived by: his sons, Mark Connella (Cheryl), Dwayne Connella (Patty) and Chad Connella (Karla); and his siblings, Dana Simmons, Michael Connella III and Genevieve Connella Hairston.
