With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Tommie Cordova of Shreveport, Louisiana, born in Mansfield, Louisiana, who passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Cordova and Margaret Cordova; and his sister Barbara Suter. He is survived by: his significant other Rhonda Beck; his children, Dr. Cory Cordova (Brandee) and Lea Poncho (Derek); his stepdaughter Allyson Liles (Jeff); his grandchildren, Olivia Cordova, Genevieve Cordova, Halle Poncho, Tate Poncho, Ana Poncho, Abram Poncho, Ryan Liles, Audrey Liles and Landrey Liles; his sister Doris Williams; and his former wife Liz Descant.

“Mr. Cordova hired me at the Lamar Salter Campus and I was always so grateful to him. I enjoyed working for him; he was always a fair boss. That was the start of my teaching career and I stayed at the Lamar Campus for nearly 20 years. The Lamar Salter Campus instructors and staff were and still are like family to me. The Cordova family remains in my prayers. God bless.”
