He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Barnes and Nellie Barnes; his siblings, Raymond, James, Virgil, Eddie and Audris; his former wife Ouida Carol; and his daughter Melody.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Barnes; and his children, James Barnes (Karen), Tim Barnes (Diana), Melissa Bennett (Tommy) and Mollie Hanna (Michael). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
