He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Ashley and Ransom Euell Ashley; and his siblings, Ronald Earl, Carroll Stephen Ashley, Glenda Colvin and Edith Arden Bowlin.
He is survived by: his children, Horace Wayne Ashley, Jr. (Suzi), Ransom Ashley (Teri), Andrea Swenson (Alan) and Angela Butler (Rick); his grandchildren, Richard, Tiffany, Anthony, Alyssa, Jeremy, Ashley, Laura, Kristen, Ransom Cade and Cole; his great grandchildren, Colton, Carson, Cooper, Josiah, Addison, Grayson, Eva, Levi, Dux, Brayden, Sophie and Brody; and his close friend Vann Rim Ly. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
