He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Finley Wells and Jeannette Iva Brown Wells; and his sister Iva Jeannette W. Houck Metzgar. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Fortson Wells; his son William Fortson Wells (Leslie); his grandson Alexander Fortson Wells; and his sisters, Sandra Tyler W. Floyd (H. N.) and Betty Jean W. Robuck (Lloyd). He is also survived by cousins, nephews, and nieces.
