He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Jackson Ezelle and Katherine Ann Grimes Ezelle; his children, Karen Evelyn Ezelle (Dane Dumesnil) and Christopher Joseph Ezelle; his wife Bebe Ogletree; his son Caleb Joseph Dumesnil; his daughter-in-law Ashlon Kay Eubank Ezelle; his granddaughter Rose Evelynn Ezelle; his siblings, Ken Ezelle (Irene), Charles "Kip" Ezelle (Janice) and Karen Redhead; his father-in-law Thomas Joseph Ogletree; and his siblings-in-law, Jody Ogletree (Dody), Elizabeth Cosby and Jennifer Collins (Kevin). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
