She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Wilson Gates and Berniece Dawson Gates; her husband Larry O'Neil Slaughter; her sister Diane Gates Pittman; her sister-in-law Carol Gates; her daughter Sylvia Slaughter-Joskiewich; and her nephew Samuel Hank Gravel.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Slaughter (Bonnie), Jeff Slaughter (Kathy), Sheri Slaughter Cowley (James), Randell Wray Slaughter (Cindy) and Shondell Slaughter Sanders (Brad); her son-in-law Daniel Joskiewich; her grandchildren, Mack Slaughter (Ali), Kayleigh Slaughter Plette (Phillip), Justin Slaughter, Nick Slaughter, Courtney Cowley Grant (Bob), Nathan Cowley (Amanda), Micah Cowley (Karly), Noah Cowley, Braden Glasson (Taylor), Jared Glasson, Nicky Joskiewich, Toni Joskiewich, Olivia Slaughter, Cael Sanders and Coen Sanders; her great grandchildren, Kenzie Slaughter, Ollie Slaughter, Leo Plette, Stella Plette, Aniya Plette, Sadie James Grant and Issac O'Neil Grant; her siblings, Jill Gates Gravel (Sam), Jack Gates and David Gates (Bonnie); and her brother-in-law Virgil Pittman.
