He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence LaVergne and Antonia Hanks LaVergne; his wife Mary Leona LaVergne; and his daughters, Deborah LaVergne Cormier (Darrell) and Rhonda LaVergne Hord (Tony).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Church, floral fund.
