He is survived by: his sons, Stefan Schmidt (Melissa) of Sunset and Hans Schmidt, Jr.; his wife Ashleigh of Broussard; his daughter Andrea Schmidt of Scott; his grandchildren, Jonas Ives Schmidt, Noah Hans Schmidt, Samantha Elizabeth Schmidt, Gracie Marie Schmidt, Genevieve Claire Schmidt and Ezra John Schmidt; and his siblings, Gerhard Schmidt (Virginia) of Vancouver, Carlos Schmidt (Gwen) of Scott and Gisela Sanchez (Enrique) of Barcelona.
