He is survived by: his wife Janet B. Thornton; his children, Jessica Leigh Jewel Thornton (Antonio) of Wilson, NC, Amanda Gayle Thornton (Chris) of Vicksboro, NC, Wade Bryan Thornton, Jr. (Kasey) of Louisburg, NC and Marcus Duane Thornton, Sr. (Christina) of Franklinton, NC; and his siblings, Carol Thornton of Gaston, NC, Bridgett Byrum (Steve) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Duane Thornton (Carolyn) of Virginia.
