She was predeceased by: her husband Vernon Lee Ellerbe Jr.; her son Vernon Lee Ellerbe III; her sister Adele Moore; and her parents, Ollie Leon and Ruby Cheek Spillman.

She is survived by: her daughter Linda Ellerbe Hartness; her son-in-law Robert Hartness Jr.; her grandchildren, Robert Arnold Hartness III, Jason Brett Hartness, Kimberly Ellerbe Cain and Devon Sheridan; and her great grandchildren, Luke Hartness, Casey Hartness, Randy Hartness, Haley Hudson and Kylie Cain.
