He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Mae Blackard; his parents, Dallas Blackard and Miley Blackard; and his siblings, J. D. Blackard and Myrtle Dear.
He is survived by: his children, Angelia "Angel" Blackard Peli (Jamie Peli) of Frisco, TX, Dale Ray Blackard (Michelle Wilcox) of St. Francisville and Christopher Jay Blackard of St. Francisville; his siblings, Myrtis Fooshee of Jackson, LA, Lela Elam of Jackson, LA and Archie Blackard (Geraldine) of St. Francisville; his grandchildren, Kalelyn Blackard Ducote, Brooklyn Bennett, Dylan Peli and Colin Peli; and his great grandchildren, Emma Kate Bennett, Kenley Ducote, Chloe Conrad and Mason Ducote.
