He was predeceased by: his wife Agnes Irene Nugent Hanks; his parents, Wallace Hanks and Aurelia Arceneaux Hanks; and his siblings, Gloria Hanks Domingue (Dallas Domingue), Martha Lee Hanks Dupuis (Ralph Dupuis, Jr.) and Ronald Hanks (Sharon Hanks).
He is survived by: his children, Jason Hanks, Keanon Hanks (Michelle Hanks), Lori Hanks Mackey (James Mackey, III), Eric Hanks (Nicole Hanks) and Mitchell Hanks (Christina Hanks); his grandchildren, Thomas Hanks, Tyler Hanks, Carley Hanks, Chelsie Hebert, Allie Keowen, Kalen Hanks, Korrin Espiga, Madison Mackey, Ross Mackey, Wyatt Hanks, Jackson Hanks, Jakob Hanks, Andrew Hanks and Aybree Hanks; and his sister Patty Hanks Arceneaux (Billy Arceneaux). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
