He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Leonard Dazet Sr. and Elizabeth Weisler; and his granddaughter Sierra Picou. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Cooper Dazet; his children, Michelle Picou, Van and Michael Picou (Heather); his grandchildren, Christopher Heller, Tristan Picou, Ian Harris, Amanda Picou and Katherine Picou; his brother Eugene "Gene" Dazet (Gina); his nephew Shane; and his niece Alyssa.
