He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Lavigne Barbier; his son Jay R. Barbier III (Natalee Young Barbier); his grandchildren, Caleb Z. Barbier and Mary-Clare Barbier; and his sister Susan B. Francois.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Traditions Hospice.
