He was predeceased by: his friend Varel Lea James Bertrand; his wife Varel Lea Bertrand; his parents, Jean Bertrand and Atille Bertrand; his siblings, Ezra Bertrand and Juanita Bertrand; and his stepdaughter Denise Wasson.
He is survived by: his children, Barry Bertrand, Tommy Bertrand (Amanda), Dennis Bertrand (Richard) and Cindy Bates (Steve); his stepson Darren Wasson; his grandchildren, Henry Bertrand, Brittany Cockerham (Ben), Ashley Bates and Hope Wasson; and his great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Capri, Jacob, Maycie, Laiten and Kandon.
