He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Watkins and Ruby Watkins; his brother Bobby Watkins; and his grandson Joseph Lachney. He is survived by: his wife Sharron Watkins of Pollock; his children, Glen Watkins (Mary) of Jonesboro, Dale Preuett (Becky) of Bentley, Don Preuett of Bentley, Melissa Schexnaydre (Mark) of Destrehan, Debra Preuett (Mike) of Bentley and Tonya Lachney (Nathan) of Bentley; his brother Johnny Watkins of Jonesboro; his sister-in-law Gloria Watkins of Jonesboro; and his grandchildren, Travis Watkins, Samantha, Kayla Cantrell, Corey, Emily Cimino, Daniel, Megan Schexnaydre, Avery Schexnaydre, Brandon Reeves, Bridget, Justin Nelson, Kasey Preuett, Victoria, Tara Preuett and Taylor Lachney. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
