She was predeceased by: her husband Gilbert Johnson; her parents, Inez and Matthew Bougere, Sr.; and her siblings, Matthew Bougere, Jr. and Rosa Mae of Washington.

She is survived by: her children, Troy Smith, Royce Steward (Alfred), Elise Johnson and Tammy Smith; her siblings, Brenda James (Calvin), Irene Johnson (Junious), Catherine Bell, Katie Scott (Melvin), Gerilyn Lewis (Honary), Roland (Helen), Anthony (Marilyn), Johnny (Rita), Nathaniel, Henry, George and Robert Bougere (Jackie); and her aunts, Ethel Williams and Rosalee McGalliard. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
