He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughters, Danna Wilson and Trudy Wilson; his grandchildren, Brooke Bertram, Bradley Bertram, Misti Monroe, Elizabeth Monroe, Ben Monroe, Jr. and Barrett Bertram; his mother Jean Tidwell; his sister Bobbi Fryer (Melvin); his wife Catha Fontenot Newman; his father Ralph Newman, Sr.; his sister Ginny Newman Crawford; his stepfather Russell Tidwell; and his stepsister Anita Meyers. He was also cherished by numerous brothers and sisters in-law and nieces and nephews.
