He was predeceased by: his wife Melva Peshoff Atchison; his grandson Taylor Reeves; his stepson Joe Grady Peshoff; his parents, Ernest Hugh Atchison and Jessie Louise Wilson Atchison; and his siblings, Tom Atchison, Charles Hugh Atchison and Nina Belle Atchison.

He is survived by: his daughters, Ann Atchison Reeves (Gary) and Rayelyn Atchison Parker (Stacy); his stepsons, Bob Peshoff and Rick Peshoff; and his brothers, Lloyd Atchison, Dan Atchison and George "Obie" Atchison. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
