He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen S. Straughan Sr. and Florence G'Selle Straughan. He is survived by: his wife Mattie Rainey Straughan; his children, Darla Straughan (Kenneth Benedict) and Norwood Straughan (Kathy); his siblings, Steve Sidney Straughan Jr. (Connie) and Linda Brister; and his grandchildren, Linzy Capseboscq Alston (Josh), Reese Straughan and Mary Morgan Straughan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory-Hammond (2000 N Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA 70401). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at the Loranger Community Cemetery.
