He is survived by: his wife Enola; his children, Michael John Schaeffer Sr. (Sandy), Michele Gillies (Stephen), Joycelyn Schaeffer (Curt), Lisa Schaeffer and Christina McCollum; and his sister Delores Arnold (George). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
