He was predeceased by: his father Richard "Buddy" Fairburn; his grandparents, Richard, Dora Fairburn, Silas Dean and Lucille Simmons; and his aunt Betty Sauls.
He is survived by: his cousins, Wayne and Wendell Simmons; his wife Lanette Fairburn; his children, Jamie, Joniele, Jace Fairburn, Holli Howard (David Green), Neela and Wiley Howard; his stepchildren, Ashley Sanders (Chris) and Ryan Wicker (Skylar); his grandchildren, Kinsley Fairburn, Isaiah, Amiya, Xavier Fairburn and Landon Harwood; his mother Jeannette Simmons Fairburn; his sister Brenda F. McGregor (Kenny); his mother-in-law Karolyn Sue Blades; his nieces and nephews, Brett Conerly (Christi), Ryan McGregor (Hillary) and Shontell Strickland (Robert); and his cousins, Tommy Fairburn and Gail Fairburn.
