He is survived by: his wife Mary Melancon of Kaplan; his sons, Dannie Melancon of Wright and Jeffery Melancon (Jennifer) of Abbeville; his grandchildren, Heather, Hanah and Alec; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Nathan; and his siblings, Rayland Melancon of Gueydan, Gerald Melancon of Gueydan, Russel Melancon of Kaplan, Daniel Melancon of Shreveport, Linda Pater of Tallahasse, FL and Laura Hebert of Kaplan.
