She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivy Deshotel and Josephine Vasseur Deshotel; her husband L. J. Sonnier; and her siblings, Wilma Deshotel, Albert and Allen Deshotel.
She is survived by: her partner Russell Sonnier; her children, Dana Lopez (Kevin) of Hathaway and Dwayne Sonnier (Dana) of Iowa; her siblings, Janice Ashford of Basile, Ethel Bergeaux (Robert) of Evangeline and Hubert Deshotel of Kinder; and her grandchildren, Zack Lopez (Saige), Tyler Lopez (Tori), Koyden Lopez, Christopher Sonnier, Dalton Sonnier and Samantha Sonnier. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
