It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh Burnon Ortego Jr. of Jennings, Louisiana, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who passed away on December 8, 2023, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Burnon Ortego, Sr. and Johannah M. Ortego; and his brothers, Michael Ortego and Harold Ortego. He is survived by: his pet Hazel; his daughters, Jennifer Ortego (Temeka), Kimberly Ortego and Sierra Ryder; his sisters, Virgina "Trinka" Ortego and Dawn Steele (Donnie); and his grandchildren, Mya, Hannah, Neriah, Brandon, Jade and Ava.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Hugh's name to the Animal Shelters of Jefferson Davis and Calcasieu Parish.
