He was predeceased by: his brother Jason Lamar Ross; his grandparents, Elijah, Sr., Gertrude Ross, Norman and Elsie Diggs; and his godmother Coralee Ross.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Hines Ross; his children, Yvonne Mitchell, Terrence Stewart, Timothy Stewart, Timaranaja Coler, Samyia Smith, Tre Ross, Trey Ross and Faith Brown; his parents, Robert, Sr. Ross and Carolyn Diggs Ross; his siblings, Robert Ross, Jr. (Shewanda), Theresa Byrd (Fabian) and Karen Rodriguez (Daniel); and his godfather Henry Johnson. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
