With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Ray Romain of Iowa, Louisiana, born in Branch, Louisiana, who passed away on March 24, 2021 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Berdner Romain and Amy Bellard Romain; his siblings, Herman, Michael "Mike" Romain and Marlene Roussel; and his granddaughter Lindsay Romain.

He is survived by: his wife Rachael Daigle Romain; his children, Wendell Romain (Kim) of Reserve, Kevin Romain (Sheri) of Slidell and Natalie Simoneaux (Steven) of Independence, LA; his grandchildren, Lisa Simoneaux, Joshua Romain, Caleb Romain, Trevor Romain, Heather and Hannah Romain; his great grandchildren, Mya and Amy; and his son-in-law Lawrence Simoneaux.

“Rachael, If I can't make it to the services for reasons I mentioned on the phone, I want you to know I'm there in spirit. Walt was my first and most influential boss. Not only that, over the decades he, and yourself, became important friends. After his retirement party at my parents home you both became dear to them as well. As I remember Walt in his later years he always pointed out that he was "critical, but not selfish". How true that reigned! God bless”
