It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney Abshire (Iowa, Louisiana), born in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, who passed away on June 3, 2021, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Abshire and Diana Abshire; his stepfather Alec Abshire; his son Kevin John; his brother Chester Abshire; and his parents-in-law, Angelus Frederick, Elsie Frederick, Roy Frederick, Charles Frederick and Greg "Leach" Stein.
He is survived by: his wife Karla Frederick Abshire; his sons, Allen Ray (Samantha) and Rodney James; his grandchildren, Zachary Allen (Sarah Daniel) and Madison Angelle; his siblings, Wilson Abshire (Ellen), Thomas Abshire (Sherry Guidry), Martha Breaux and Gloria Trahan (Ricky); and his mothers-in-law, Janet Stein (Malcolm), Andrea Lide (Al) and Gilda Mallet (Donald). He is also survived by numerous godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
