He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Fontenot and Cecile Fontenot (Duplechin); and his brother Malcolm Fontenot. He is survived by: his wife Louise; his daughter Theresa Fontenot Carbo (Daryl) of Destrehan, LA; and his siblings, Carl Fontenot of Tyler, TX and Shalinda Oliver of Frisco, TX.
