She was predeceased by: her parents, Eli Benoit and Alida Benoit (LaBove); her former husband Jimmy Trahan; and her siblings, Winston Benoit, Hebert Benoit, Mary Ann Trahan and Lorraine Miller.

She is survived by: her husband Darrell Salsgiver; her son Carl James Trahan (Melissa); her sisters, Corrine Willis, Olive Rutherford and Norma Lee Bourriaque; and her grandchildren, Angela Doxey (Huba), Carl James Trahan, Jr. (Tori) and Janice Trahan. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
