He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Keren Thevis Hebert (Bubba) of Crowley; his grandchildren, Haleigh and Wesley Thevis; his siblings, Lynette Thevis LaCombe (Doug) of Iota, James Thevis, Jr. (Ella) of Mowata, Daniel Thevis of Rayne, Steven Thevis (Kathy) of Iota, Wayne Thevis (Rosie) of Iota, Kelly Thevis of Crowley and Bruno Thevis of Roberts Cove; and also Blaise. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
