He was predeceased by: his wife Ellarine Lear Starns; his parents, Dock Vining Starns and Ethel Purvis Starns; and his great grandchild James Ethan Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Barbara Ann Starns Nelson (James Allen Nelson), Sarah Marie Starns Bellott (Francis Ray Bellott) and Philip Wayne Starns (Emily Starns); and his grandchildren, Nathan Nelson, Larry Nelson, Shanna Bryant, Brad Starns, Ashton Bellott and Andrew Bellott.
