She was predeceased by: her child Luther Lewis; her former husband Charles Pierson; her parents, John Ballard and Nettie Efferson; her children, Evie Brown and David Lewis; her sister Evon Ballard; her sons-in-law, Wade Gordon, Tinker Sanders, Sr. and Kenneth "Buddy" Smith, Sr.; her granddaughter Pamela Watkins; and her great grandchildren, Alan J. Watkins, Jacob Vaughn and Madelyn Jordan (Maddie).
She is survived by: her daughters, Elaine Smith of Pine Grove, Mary Gordon of Holden and Dorothy Sanders of Holden; and her sister Johnnie Curtrer of Livingston. She is also survived by mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
