It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Wascom of Folsom, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on May 31, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Wascom and Ola McKee Wascom. He is survived by: his sons, David Wascom (Molly) and Patrick Wascom; his grandchildren, Ian Charles Wascom, Madeleine Wascom and Sophie Wascom; and his sisters, Judy Loyde and Paula Boyce.

Following retirement from the military, Colonel Wascom accepted the position of director of the San Antonio American Red Cross, and during his 12 years there led the chapter to meet or exceed its donation goals for two years.
