It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Wayne Merritt of Farmerville, Louisiana, born in Camden, Arkansas, who passed away on August 2, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tillman and Ilene Merritt; his sister Ernestine; his brother-in-law Bob Westbrook; his parents-in-law, Georgia and Raymond McElvogue; and his brother-in-law Ronald McElvogue.
He is survived by: his wife Delores; his children, John Merritt (Michelle) of Anahuac, TX and Deborah Merritt of Beach City, TX; his brothers, Charles Merritt (Mary Ann) of Pearland, TX and Mike Merritt of El Dorado, AK; his siblings-in-law, Donald McElvogue (Denise) of Tyler, TX and Jeanne McElvogue of Cold Springs, TX; and his great grandchildren, Kalynn, Natalie, Josie Nash of Mont Belvieu, TX, Brentlee and Logan Hennigan of Winnie, TX. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
