It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Dean Varner Sykes Tatum (Delhi, Louisiana), born in Forest, Louisiana, who passed away on April 14, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma Varner and Johnnie Varner; her husband Joe Tatum; her son Keith Sykes; her grandson Dylan Sykes; and her siblings, Douglas, Jerry, Charles, Barry Varner and Carolyn Bryan.

She is survived by: her children, Pam Sykes of Delhi, Mike Sykes of Canton, Terry Sykes (Stephanie) of Delhi, Tanya Mejias (Chris) of Longview and Terra Kilgore (Josh) of Nashville; her great grandchildren, Triston Sykes, Karma Valentine, Synopa and Owen Sikes; her sisters, Charlotte Wright, Loyce LeHeup of Oak Grove and Patricia Jones of Huntsville; and her close friend Linda Whitlock of West Monroe. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Dunn Baptist Church building fund or the Delta Humane Society of Louisiana.
