He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Levine Smith; his former wife Dolores Toups Smith; his wife Cora Lee Johnson Smith; his daughter Peggy Smith Romero; his grandchild Robin Romero; his great grandchild Channing Smith; his parents, Frank Smith and Martha Weaver Smith; and his siblings, Pearl Boykin, Sue Morrell, Christine Pruitt, Eugene and Oscar Weaver.
He is survived by: his children, Marilyn Istre (Hubert "Mac") of Morse, Debbie Primeaux (Roger) of Lyons Point, Sandra Bertrand (Shannon) of Abbeville, Jimmie Smith (Dora) of Lyons Point, Billy Smith of Oxford, PA and Tommy Smith (Corey) of San Francisco, CA; his son-in-law Willard Romero of Morse; his brothers, Kenny Smith (Ann) of Fruitdale, AL and Willie Lewis Smith of Citronelle, AL; and his brother-in-law Roy T. Boykin of Fruitdale, AL. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren; and numerous step-children.
